Move Well, Stay wild
Moved to guide and empower women who are called to explore their capacity for growth, I communicate a passion for movement and wellness practices rooted in nature connection. With my extensive training as a professional dancer, and over a decade of experience teaching yoga and functional fitness, I bring an embodied wisdom to facilitating movement guidance for women.
My teaching style weaves together a creative, yet functional approach to holistic movement through anatomical awareness, therapeutic practices, nature connection, and energetic explorations. The wisdom of the natural world and the cycles found within it guide how I structure my own life, and facilitate my offerings to others. Since navigating the seasons of pregnancy and postpartum in my own body, I have become especially interested in helping women understand the nuances of moving in their bodies during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.
From an early age, I have been curious and invested in exploring and deepening the connection between my mind, body, and spirit through the medium of dance. I pursued my dream by moving to NYC to attend NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where I graduated cum laude, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor in Psychology. During my final year of studies at NYU, I followed the innate calling to take on my role as a teacher, training to become a 300 hour licensed Mind Body Dancer® yoga teacher under the direction of TaraMarie Perri. Alongside dancing professionally in NYC, I began to develop my body of work, then called Luminous Architecture, in 2015 as my interests in movement and healing began to branch out. While living in NYC, I built a diverse private clientele, served as a yoga consultant for companies like Reuters and the Freedom Institute, hosted monthly women's gatherings, and taught group yoga and fitness classes at various studios across the city.
In 2018, I set out on new adventures and headed West, relocating to Portland, OR. While living in the city, I continued to dance professionally, teach group yoga classes at several studios, and cultivate in-person and online movement and wellness offerings under the name Luminous Architecture. The mountains had been calling for quite some time, and the stars finally aligned in 2022 to trade in the frenzy of city living for a more grounded way of being on 5 wooded acres in the country. Shortly after moving, I became pregnant, and while walking the path from Maiden to Mother, I felt that my work in this world was being asked to shift. I waited to meet myself as Mother before embarking upon the task of rebranding, and during that first year of motherhood, as just about every aspect of my life and sense of self transformed, Move Well Wild began to take shape.
Move Well Wild is rooted in women’s movement, wellness, and wildness. It is the body of work beckoned from my bones, being called forth into this world to support women, near and far, through the tending of body and breath, spirit and well-being, individually and communally.
I weave this web of women’s wellness from the majestic Columbia River Gorge, where I live with my husband and son, offering movement teachings to my local community and enjoying the magic of being a mountain mama to my wild, adventurous toddler.
